Riot Signs Kobe!
posted by Magicfanger, 1 year agoSam 'Kobe' Hartman-Kenzler announced that he is going to joining the Riot staff after retiring from professional gaming. Riot has been recruiting casters for ther LCS series and it looks like Kobe is up next for the Riot experience!
Prior to his League of Legends career, Kobe had a history of gaming that most of us remember from our childhood such as Poke'mon, Goldeneye, and even Super Smash Brothers, where he first participated in Tournaments. After College, a friend told him about League of Legends, and although the game was still in beta at this time. Nonetheless, this would start his interest in League of Legends, and eventually he would go pro.
Kobe's professional League of Legends career started with him jungling for CLG when the competitive scene for League of Legends was still very young. Despite his comparatively short professional career, he had still participated in a number of tournaments, most notably at WCG 2010. This was where he engraved his name the history books of not only CLG, but also WCG more broadly, with his game winning Amumu Bandage Toss in the final game of the 3-game set, securing the win and tournament over SK Gaming. After a career spanning just under a year, Kobe retired from professional gaming to focus on his education. However, he involved in the League scene though, as he has casted in multiple online events and tournaments since his retirement.
