Tales of the Lane Tournament Preview!

The hosts of the Kings of Europe tournament have announced a new tournament format named Tales of the Lane a while ago. They have been collecting donations and have even exceeded their goal of € 80,000. With enough money to be able to host the tournament, which will be partly held online and partly offline, they were able to announce the participants and the schedule.

Tales of the Lane will provide the top tier teams of the European competitive scene. Only eu CLG had to turn down the invitation because of other tournaments they are attending in North America.

Here is the full roster of teams participating in the tournament:

eu Tt Dragons are replacing CLG while eu IWantCookie was invited because fr Millenium disbanded prior the tournament. The tenth team was determined by a fan-voting on TotL's facebook page. The users were able to decide between de Team Acer, eu Team BLACK, pl Warsaw Five and the team who eventually won the voting eu Team Alternate.


Format:

  • The ten teams are split into two groups of five.
  • Round Robin, each game Best-of-One.
  • The winner of each group directly qualifies for the semifinals.
  • Second and Third of each group battle each other for two remaining slots in the semifinals.
  • The playoffs are Best-of-Three
  • Semifinals and the grand final are held offline in Paris, France. All matches Best-of-Three.

The money will be spread out as follows:

  • € 30,000 for the cash prize and getting the teams together
  • € 10,000 for organizing the online phases
  • € 40,000 for renting the Casino de Paris and organizing the event on November 11th
  • € 40,000 for guest and surprises

and i think
Group A : Alternate (Strong atm) - Fnatic (not playing that well in the last few weeks) - SK (Stronger than the rest)
Group B : Curse.EU (Very very strong atm and won the last BO3 against ATN) - M5 (Online Tournment --> M5 wont play good for some reason) - EC.S (but i hope IWC)

MYM wont make it since they dont stop losing against IWC in skrims
Mousesports and Tt Dragon could both make it to the 3rd spot of SK but surely not first or second!
