Who will get First Blood?

posted by Methis, 2 years ago

Europe's greatest video games trade-fair, gamescom, held in Cologne, Germany, will soon open its gates to the public. Alongside the fair, the second of six Season 2 Regional Finals will be held. The top eight European teams will go head to head in a Single Elimination format tournament, vying for a spot on the podium, a ton of prize money and a free ticket to the Season 2 Finals in Los Angeles.

The two favourites for this tournament are ru Moscow Five and eu CLG. Although eu Curse have not yet been able to prove their strength in an offline tournament as of yet, they have made many good performances in the last few months, making them a favorite for the podium as well. eu SK Gaming have gathered a fair amount of offline tournament experience, but due to an extraordinary number of roster changes in the recent past, they aren't considered a favourite to finish in the top three.

Another well-known team, also considered as a favourite, are the Season 1 Champions, eu FnaticRC. They are fighting against eu Curse in the first round. The other three teams, all considered underdogs, shouldn't be underestimated either. pl EloHell.net and pl Team Acer have shown strong plays lately and de Alternate has a lot of experience in the field. They attended IEM gamescom last year and the IEM Championship in Hanover. Thus, all of these teams will have a chance to beat the odds and qualify. de Gamed, the last year's winner, proved that.

1.6 million viewers watched the Season 1 Finals. This amount shows how attractive the multinational eSports scene, particularly League of Legends, has become to the public. Some companies have already noticed the growing market and set foot into the scene, as well. A recent example is digibet.

digibet, a huge online betting service, is providing bets on details such as "First Dragon" and "First Blood", alongside the 'normal' bets on who would win each match. Since FnaticRC and Curse.eu are seeded very simiarly, and their fight is deciding who will get their ticket to the Championship in Los Angeles, it will definitely be one of the most exciting games, right in the first round, to watch and to bet on.

I really like this site, but I hate how this news is intertwined with advertisment for a gambling site.
Advertisment is ok, but putting it within the actual content is not the way it should be done.

in2LoL, take a clue from Google. They mark any sponsored content CLEARLY as advertisement. There's a reason why they do it.

Now before you lose all your visitors and go down as a no-name forgotten website, either mark your betting website clearly and separately from all other content, or remove it and just leave a banner or two.

I stopped my ADBlock on this website to support it, but now you're making me want to block all this crap again.

a way might look like,
for example you up a news about the gamescon (brackets), put a banner below the news like "wanna bet on gc games? www.x xx.com!"
or you maybe do introduction of a whole team instead of a single player in the future, you can put a banner below like "bet on team cs at www.x xx.com"
so your news are still relevant to the average non betting LoL player, but also have the advertisement.

to me its not that big of a deal, coz i visit this site ONLY for the free betting system you offer, and i think there could be a good symbiosis of you delivering relevant esport stuff like teams, tactics, tournament and brackets as well as your free betting system, and digibet providing the possibility to use the info gathered on in2lol to place real bets on relevant LoL-games.

this may sound crazy but atm i started doing my own excel sheets with teams, results and whether a team is more tower or dragon, kill or cs orientated. Thats all stuff you can put news up on your page and also advertise your partner,
and i dont have to watch every single game :)
