Who wins Head-to-Head?

posted by Methis, 2 years ago

The Regional Finals are about to start alongside with gamescom, Europe's largest videogames trade-fair held in Cologne, Germany. The top 8 teams will face each other in the tournament with a single elimination bracket to fight for a spot on the podium. The event in Cologne is the second of six regional finals to act as the decider for who is going to attend the Season 2 Championship in Los Angeles in October this year.

ru Moscow Five and eu Counter Logic Gaming are considered to be the favourites in this tournament. Even though eu Curse has not won any offline tournaments yet, they have performed very well throughout the last months. A lot of people expect them to qualify for the Season 2 Final as well. eu SK-Gaming have been around for a long time and participated in many offline tournaments, but due to a lot of roster changes in the past they aren't considered to get one spot on the podium.

Another favorite is the Season 1 Champion eu FnaticRC. They are facing eu Curse in the first round, we will know from the beginning who has a chance to take the third spot for the global finals. The other three teams are seen as underdogs. However, pl EloHell.net and pl Team Acer have been very dominant lately and de Alternate has a lot of experience. They attended IEM gamescom last year and the IEM Championship in Hannover. Thus, all of these teams will have a chance to beat the odds. As we've seen last year it was de Gamed who were able to qualify for the Season 1 Championship so prepare yourself for some possible surprises.

The Season 1 Finals have been watched by 1.6 million viewers. The notedly high amount of viewers the game had at this time now also attracts more companies to the multinational eSports scene, in particular LoL. A recent example would be digibet.

To boost the audience's excitement, digibet is providing "detailed" bets such as "First Dragon", "Higher Creep Score" and "First Blood" next to the "normal" bets about who would win which match. Since SK-Gaming and Acer.pl are seeded close and their fight is deciding about their ticket to the Championship in Los Angeles it will definitely be one of the most exciting games right in the first round to see.

To kickstart this unique betting experience, digibet is giving away a 5-Euro bonus code. This is what Tom Lemke, project manager eSport from digibet had to say:

We wanted to give every gamer the possibility to test our new product for free. Sign up and use the "esport2012" bonus code to get your 5-Euro bonus. We favor SK-Gaming odds-wise so I would bet on Yellowstar to out-CS Puki Style. This bet really boils down to the farming skills of the indivdual players. If you can't last-hit properly you shouldn't be playing with the big boys. To be able to farm well even under pressure divides the good players from the great players.

Head-to-Head: Which player has the highest Creep-Score?

A three-way outcome (1,X or 2) Head-to-Head bet between two players; one player from each opposing team. The same rules as used for the team version of this bet, applies to the Head-to-Head format. At the end of the match, results of each player’s creep-score will be published.

Example:

We place a bet on Yellowpete, who plays for CLG.eu as their Attack-Damage Carry and is the favourite in this example. For the bet to be successful, he must obtain a higher, overall, creep-score than his H2H counter-part: Sleper. It does not matter what the other team-members on either team achieves, as long as his score is higher than Curse.eu's Sleper.

Check out the gamescom bets on esports.digibet.com.
Use the voucher "esport2012" to get a five Euro bonus - until Friday 7p.m. CEST!

I'll talk to the web developers. That's an unusual error though. In the meantime you can always sign up the normal way and use digibet.com

I'll keep you posted!
