Who Is Going To Gamescom, Cologne?
posted by Jan, 293 days ago
During last week's ECC Poland eight teams tried to earn the last points to qualify for the European finals of Riot's season two. After the event seven of the eight teams who will be competing in Cologne are confirmed.
With Moscow Five winning the ECC Poland and CLG.eu coming in second, no major upsets influenced the European Circuit standings for the second season since both teams led the ranking already. With SK Gaming and Curse.eu placing third and fourth, Fnatic was the only top team which didn't gather big points over the weekend.
But since none of the lower ranked teams had the potential to shine, Fnatic was able to stay within the top 4, qualifying for European Circuit finals during gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Along with the major teams in the European League of Legends scene, the teams from Acer.pl and the German Team Alternate lineup will participate in the middle of August, fighting for a spot at the big event at the end of October.
Therefore only one more team will have the chance to qualify during gamescom for the big final, with the opportunity to play for two million dollars during the World Championships in Los Angeles, USA,at the end of October. Since a couple of teams currently have 50 points, Riot still has to decide who will be the last team qualifying for the event during gamescom. Besides Elohell, who placed third in their group at European Challenger Circuit: Poland, the French top team Millenium and the Spanish team of Ocelot World have the chance to fill the last spot.

@LexterSUI there will be 8 teams in cologne.
@Cycho I think your definition of a team is different from mine. In my opinion a team is just a name, if Barcelona would sell half their keyplayers in a summer they're still Barcelona and they'll still have their spot in the championsleague.
If England would change their player lineup they'd still retain their standing on the fifa rankings. That is the difference between a teamsport and a solo sport.

The counting started at Kiev, so they actually have 3 members from since then. Ocelote, Nyph and Kevin.

6th, 7th and whatever is the last team... There's no way they qualify ! But that will be very close for the 5 other team... I'm feeling CLG 1st, M5 2nd, Curse 3rd and Fnatic 4th, despite the good perf for SK at ECC
